Themba has been leading many birding tours and environmental education trips in Zululand and some other parts of South Africa.

The programmes are run by mainly birdguides trained by Birdlife SA. Projects are conducted within the famous Zululand Birding Route and currently operates between St. Lucia & Tembe Elephant Park neighboring the iSimangaliso World Heritage Site (IBA).

Themba also a accredited assessor in tourism and conservation. He has two Lilizela Travel awards for NQF4 Nature, trail guide, and rifle handling.
